In my drawing practice, I seek to discover a confluence of the spiritual and material. My works are created through a meditative process of tracing, eliminating, finding and forging drawn lines on the surface of the paper. These accumulated mapped marks become intertwined layers and untraceable histories of past, present and future.
About Erin Wiersma
Erin Wiersma was born in Somerville New Jersey, in 1982, received a B.A. in Studio Art degree at Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania and a M.F.A. in Painting & Drawing from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut. Wiersma exhibits her drawings both in national and internal venues. Wiersma is represented by A.I.R. Gallery located in Brooklyn, NY. Currently Wiersma is resides in Manhattan, Kansas, where she is an Assistant Professor of Art at Kansas State University.
